New concepts in warehouse management, flow of material and new order picking strategies without interruption for more than 60,000 car products: The general contractor services from SSI SCHAEFER facilitated an increase in order picking performance of 25% by coordinating simultaneous readjustments in the entire warehouse.
Without interrupting ongoing operations, a new system concept was developed and realised at the same time: new information and control processes, steel framework for 26,000 container storage locations in the small parts store, integration of 4 new storage and retrieval devices, new container conveyor technology and new order picking stations with pick-by-light systems.
