Expansion of the central European distribution centre
Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG based in Blomberg, East-Westphalia-Lippe – an international leader in the production of electrical joining and electronic interface techniques as well as industrial automation technology – has expanded its central logistics centre for Europe with a fully automated high bay warehouse (HBW). With 4 production locations in Germany and 5 manufacturing plants abroad, the production network of Phoenix Contact comprises approximately 10,200 employees worldwide – about 3500 of them in Blomberg. From there, more than 80 outlets and sales representatives in Germany as well as almost 30 outlets in Europe are supplied with everything required for industrial joining techniques, device-connection technology, overload protection and automation technology.
SSI SCHAEFER realised a buffering high bay racking system including a conveyor system in an existing building; a system design beyond conventional standard projects.
