Today, Hago GmbH uses high-tech to manufacture sheet metal parts of all shapes and sizes to the customer's order. As a generalist in sheet metalworking, they manufacture parts from the size of a fingernail through to bodywork parts for buses in batch sizes from 1 to several million items per year.

Increased productivity through integrated warehouse logistics

In a construction time of just 10 months, SSI Schaefer, operating as the general contractor for the Southern German automobile supplier Hago GmbH, set up a fully automated high bay racking system with roller tracks and chain conveyors.

The particular challenge in this project was the integration of the production areas into the overall logistics: For example, the press tool change in the production area is taken into account in the overall design; tools not currently required are automatically stored or conveyed to the relevant production areas as required. The high level of automation in the overall project resulted in an enormous increase in productivity.
