The company offers a product range with over 100,000 products of the highest quality: Bolts and screws, bolt accessories, dowels, chemical technology products, fixtures for furniture and buildings, tools, stock supply and removal systems as well as work safety equipment, are sold to customers in trade and industry by Würth field sales representatives.
Fully automated sequencing buffers double the throughput of outbound goods
For Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Mergentheim, Germany, general contractor SSI SCHAEFER Noell GmbH designed a special solution for order compilation and sorting in the outbound goods area in cooperation with the customer: The first installation of a fully automatic SCS.
At maximum storage capacity, the highly dynamic warehouse system allows twice the throughput. At Würth, the storage system consisting of four carousels has been integrated into the existing flow of material and is used as a sequencing buffer for outbound goods. Incoming orders are picked throughout the day and then buffered in more than 3,800 storage locations. This reduces the area needed for preparation and manual sorting stages and tracks. Entire orders can be called up according to the sequence of customers. Call-up cycles and order compilations can be changed in a flexible way. The SCS also enables consistent inventory management, permanent stocktaking and statistical records.
