High tech for order picking
In just four months, SSI Schaefer has completed the implementation of the service centre "Zur Rose Pharma Gmbh" in Halle, Germany.
The new conveying and picking system has been implemented to enable the efficient delivery of pharmaceutical products - including orders sent over the Internet - at a reduced cost. Thanks to the fast moving picking unit (S-Pemat) and the PPS Parallel Picking System it is possible to deliver orders directly to customers' homes within just two days.
Furthermore, SSI Schaefer has installed all the technical equipment for the picking workstations, the area containing those products not suitable for automatic picking and refrigerated products, as well as a downstream workstation for bulky item picking and consolidation.
